Review: Limerance Skincare

Limerance is a skincare brand specialising in mineral-based products. Ever since the whole mineral cosmetics craze emerged, I've been well and truly drawn in and now most of my cosmetic products are from mineral make-up lines. So when I was offered the chance to test out some of the Limerance products, I knew I had to give it a try.

The first product I got to test out was the Limerance Face Cream*. This face cream consists of 79 minerals, gold, peptides, and pressed peach kernels! That sounds like a lot of goodness to me! All of these ingredients are designed to strengthen, moisturise, and treat wrinkles on your skin.

This product is supposed to be fragrance-free, however, I can definitely sense a smell to it. It smells a little like herbal tea. It's not a bad smell, it's just not one that I'm particularly fond of.

Having said that, this face cream is luscious. It glides on so smoothly and it doesn't leave a sticky texture behind. Despite the fact that this is a face cream, I've actually been trying this out on my hands and arms as well just because I can't resist applying lotions and potions when I'm sitting at my desk. This has made my hands baby soft so it'll do the same for your face.

I can't really comment on the wrinkles side of things as I'm only 21 and there doesn't seem to be a wrinkle in sight at the moment. This definitely gives you smooth and soft skin, though, so I imagine that it'll at least make your wrinkles look better! Now I'm wondering if any of my readers are actually at the wrinkle-worrying stage yet...

The second product that I tried out was the Limerance Lip Balm*. This is a natural lipbalm containing beeswax and a variety of oils. It is recommended that you apply this lip balm before going to sleep so that you can wake up with soft lips!

The first thing I noticed about this was the smell. It has a very strong natural honey smell which I really like. It applies smoothly to my lips and makes my lips feel moisturised but not sticky. It is recommended that you apply this product overnight so you can wake up with smooth lips. A lot of people get dry lips around this time and this is a great product to combat it.

You can purchase these products online from the Limerance website.
Are you a fan of minerals too?

Linderella Loves Baking

Today I had planned for a beauty post but I thought I'd do a food post instead! You should know by now how much I love doing food posts, even moreso today as it's all about baking! As the title says, Linderella loves baking!!!

I've been baking sweet treats since I was a little girl and it's one of my favourite things to do, albeit not the healthiest! As much as I love things like bakewells, flapjacks, cheesecakes etc, nothing beats making a fresh batch of cupcakes. I feel like I've almost mastered the perfect sponge and now I need to improve my decorating skills.

I'm by no means an expert baker (I wish I was!) but you can have so much fun with baking and decorating. So I thought I'd share my cupcakes with all of you today... in images of course.

These have all been decorated with banana cream cheese frosting and sugar balls. Oh, and one of them also has random green writing icing on.... not too sure why I did that really...

These probably aren't at professional standards (yet!) but practice makes perfect. I can't wait to bake my next batch already to improve my baking skills.

Do you like the look of my cupcakes?
Any tips for improvement?

F&F Awkward Christmas

I love Christmas as it's always such a happy and joyful occasion. It's a time for loving, giving, and just generally enjoying the company of those around you.

This is actually my first "blog Christmas" so I was thrilled to check my inbox the other week to see that I had been selected for the F&F Awkward Christmas Competition. Having never heard of it before, I wasn't too sure what to make of it but it sounded like a great way to get into the festive spirit. I've felt like I've been a bit slow to jump onto the Christmas bandwagon this year. Even a trip to the German Market in the city centre didn't get me into the festive mood!

After searching high and low to dig out some Christmas clothing in my bedroom, I came across a lovely pair of socks that a friend bought for me a few years ago. These socks have cute little polar bears and snowflakes on them. Even though these are Christmas socks, I used to wear them all year round as they're so comfortable. I mainly wear black socks nowadays so these haven't seen the light much lately!

I also managed to get my hands on this lovely F&F Snowman Musical Sweatshirt* that was very kindly sent to me. Yes, you read that right, a MUSICAL sweatshirt. All you have to do is press the glove of the snowman! It took me a while to choose this from the website as there are so many lovely Christmas pieces from F&F this year, but I couldn't resist this very cheesy musical number. I can't wait to annoy everyone with it haha. I'm going to be a walking Christmas melody!

A warm sweatshirt. With an adorable snowman. Blasting out festive tunes. What more could a girl want? The only additional thing I could ask for is for the snowman to start dancing around.... so yeah... if you know of any Christmas jumpers/sweatshirts that can do that, please leave a link below...

It looks like this sweatshirt is sold out online but you could always take a look in store or check out some other items from F&FTesco have really impressed me this year with their range of festive wear. This is super comfortable too!

Review: Haughton Greene - Lavender & Mandarin Sensitive Skin Balm

Haughton Greene is a skincare company based in Staffordshire, founded by Jason Horton. This little company was created when the founder wanted a product that would be effective on eczema, a condition that both his children suffered from.

Fast forward a little bit and Haughton Greene now also produces body scrubs, body butters, and much more. All products are 100% natural.

I love trying out new skincare products so I was happy to receive this Lavender & Mandarin Sensitive Skin Balm*. Although I don't suffer from eczema, I do get dry skin when I don't moisturise enough.

The lavender smell is amazing and I find that it's a really calming smell. The mandarin adds a little sharpness to it but it's not that noticeable. I don't actually own any lavender scented products but now I'm thinking that I probably should!

The texture of this balm is really smooth and easy to apply. When I first opened the tin, I thought that it would be quite a thick, waxy texture but it melts so easily into my fingers. It's also not sticky.

I've had a rough dry patch on the back of my hand for about a week now. I'm not entirely sure how it even happened but it was so itchy. No amount of moisturising or exfoliating was helping, and it was just getting more and more itchy. So I applied some of this onto my hand. I actually wasn't expecting much of a difference so I was extremely pleased to see that after a day, the dry patch had gotten ten times better. And now my hand is almost back to normal! This has been a miracle balm and it couldn't have arrived at a better time!

I only have a little 15g pot but I can see that it's going to last me quite a while. You can purchase the full-sized version on their website for £8.50.

Does anyone else love natural skincare?

Review: Save The Blow Dry - Shower Cap

I'm someone who takes ages to style my hair, mainly because my hair is naturally poker-straight so it takes a while to get it to do anything other than lie flat.

The issue is, when I'm heading out in the evening, I like to take another shower just to freshen up. So there goes my lovely voluminous hair. I like to keep everything quite efficient in the evenings. Shower. Clothes. Leave the house. So it's always pretty gutting when my nice bouncy hair doesn't look so bouncy afterwards.

This is where Save The Blow Dry* comes in. This handy little cap, kindly sent to me for review purposes, keeps your blowdry looking in great condition whilst you're in the shower or having a bath. It's probably worth mentioning here that this is not just a shower cap, it's more than that. Whilst the outer waterproof layer resembles a typical shower cap, the inner layer consists of super absorbant micro-weave towelling. This brilliant material helps to eliminate humidity and condensation.

Alternatively, you can turn this cap inside out and use it for hair treatments. I won't say too much on this as I don't actually use hair treatments.

The design of this is really stylish and cute and it definitely looks a lot nicer than shower caps that I've owned in the past. The material, both on the inside and outside, feels good and is definitely good quality.

I have to admit that when I was contacted about Save The Blow Dry, I was intrigued by the concept but cynical about it actually working in practice. I actually like this product as it definitely reduces humidity in comparison to using a standard shower cap. My hair stayed looking a lot more voluminous and bouncier than usual.

This product is suitable for all hair lengths and it feels slightly larger than the average shower cap. I have long, thick hair and it all fits in fine. It's extremely roomy! Having said that, I still think this product would be more effective for shorter hair because I do find that my hair comes out looking a little messy at times. Nothing that a quick brush-through can't sort out though.

I'm really glad I've managed to get hold of this because, regardless of the fact that I don't go out too much in the evenings at the moment, this makes a brilliant shower cap. The fact that I can also use it for keeping my blowdry looking great is a massive bonus. This would also be perfect for those people who prefer not to do a hair wash every single day.

You can purchase this online for £14.95.

My Week #1

This is my first "My Week" post, where I'll be sharing what I've been up to and things that have happened this week. I won't be doing this kind of post every week but I'll definitely be posting if anything exciting happens during any particular week.

Here is what happened in this week in the world of Linderella...

Home-made sushi. I absolutely LOVE sushi and it tastes even better when it's home-made.

Bought my first Lush product. I've used their products before but they've always been gifts. This time, I decided to venture into Lush myself! I picked up the limited edition Snow Fairy shower gel.

Ranked #27 on the bloglovin' up and coming blogs. I was looking at this page to see if there were any new blogs to  follow. I was super surprised to see my own blog on there!!! I don't think I'm on there right now but I'm happy to have stayed there for a few days!

Reached 250 followers on GFC. When I started this blog earlier in the year,  I never thought I'd even reach 25 followers let alone 250! So thank you to those of you who follow my blog.

This was a fairly short post but I hope you liked it!

Review: Sugarpuss London - Aqua Quartz & Pearl Bracelet

Some of you may have seen my introductory post last week about an online jewellery boutique called Sugarpuss London. Today, I am going to share with you one of their beautiful pieces.

The team at Sugarpuss London very kindly sent me the Aqua Quartz & Pearl Bracelet* after I hinted that it was one of my favourites.

The parcel arrived within a day and as soon as I saw the Sugarpuss London address on the envelope, I was so excited to open it up. The bracelet came in a gorgeous gift box which was neatly tied up with a ribbon. Presentation is everything when it comes to jewellery.

One of the first things I noticed was the silver hook clasp. I was a little worried as to how I was going to put the bracelet on by myself at first because I haven't seen this kind of clasp before, but I managed to do it up before long. I put it down to good practice because I own so many dainty bracelets!

The bracelet itself is even more beautiful than it looked on the website. I actually already have a quartz bracelet and I also have a pearl bracelet, so this one is even better because it's got both quartz and pearl in it. As this is aqua quartz, there is a slight blue tint to it which adds a nice subtle hint of colour. The pearls are so pretty as well. There's something about pearls that creates a classy and elegant look.

I also received a pretty purple envelope with a Sugarpuss London card inside and a printed note telling me all about my bracelet. I already knew that Sugarpuss London sell limited or one-off pieces therefore I assumed this was a limited piece - I was really pleased to see that it was a one-off. I've never owned an exclusive piece of jewellery before!

I just know that I'll be wearing this a lot and I can't wait to show it off to my family and friends. If you're after a beautiful and unique piece of jewellery, either for yourself or a loved one, you definitely need to check out their website. I'm so glad I came across this brand and I know I'l be purchasing something from them in the future (or persuading someone else to purchase something for me this Christmas....).

In terms of prices, I do believe that you get what you pay for. The items on their website aren't cheap, but I think it's pretty standard pricing for high quality, fine jewellery and it doesn't differ from what I've paid in the past for most of the items in my jewellery collection. This particular bracelet retailed on the site at about £65.00.

As this is a one-off, you can't purchase this exact one but there are plenty of other amazing designs on the Sugarpuss London website.

What do you think of my bracelet?
